I always lose weight on vacation too. No snacking and rarely 3 meals per day.

I don't notice this, but I live a largely car-free lifestyle (not entirely, but mostly) and have big dogs who need 6+ miles a day but I can totally see how being car dependent and shifting to walking could move the needle. There's a reason, anywhere in the world, people who live in cities and rely on public transit/walking/biking etc. are just naturally less prone to obesity.

DP. I noticed I’d drop 5 lbs over a 2 week vacation, walking at least 10 miles a day and eating less because I tend to eat when I’m inside. I
I used to travel 3 times per year and this was a way to regulate my weight.

How long are your vacations? That could be water weight you are losing if you are taking short trips. Depending on the length of your trips, I would guess it’s not enough time to lose weight from something like walking.

I've noticed I always lose weight on holidays. It's because I'm always walking - uphill, lots, just more than driving. I guess I get why we are all so out of shape at home! Incl myself I feel like I def ate well on these vacations so for sure the exercise did it. It's just a very clear observation of how lifestyles impact.
