Yes but I have decided to keep it to Manhattan. The views are not my main draw, but would be a good bonus or cherry on top for that week.

Agreed. The better views are in Jersey.

I think 3 days uptown (ish) and 3 days downtown is a good split. I work in Midtown and would personally prefer not to stay there. You’ll be surrounded by office buildings and maximum chaos.

The subway makes it pretty easy to get around anywhere in the heavily touristed areas of Manhattan, so transportation will be fine either way. Plus of course the beauty of NYC is the walkability, and the weather is finally getting nicer. There are a bunch of hotels on/near Central Park South that are well-located for exploring the UES and UWS.

I live in nyc and it’s extremely easy to get around from midtown or soho. What neighborhoods are you considering living in?

I am spending a week in Manhattan in June and I cannot decide where to stay. I am thinking of doing 3 nights near the park and then 3 nights in Soho. I am scoping out potential areas to live in a few years so will be doing a lot of neighborhood walking around. Any hotel recs? Especially ones with great views of the city (even if you have to request them.) Should I just do something in midtown for 6 nights? Help?
