They proposed some changes to the boundaries for OA last round (last year) but not feeding OA into MacArthur. They could certainly make that change down the line, but DCPS has always been adamant that once your kid is in a feeder pattern you retain the right to those schools even if the feeder pattern changes. So, if you have a kid already in OA, they have a right to go to JR that will not be taken away.

The proposal gave current OA students the option to pick JR or MacArthur but at some point all of OA would feed to MacArthur. It wasn’t passed, OA feeds to JR. But that idea was floated, which is what I’m guessing OP heard.. outdated, partial info.

They should definitely be wary of that. Hardy grade size + Oyster grade size > MacArthur capacity.

Of course, not everybody goes from the feeder, but there's potential for MacArthur to get quickly overcrowded, which would be stupid because relieving JR overcrowding was the impetus for MacArthur (that and bailing connected ones out of a bad real estate deal)

If I recall correctly, it was proposed during the last round of boundary changes but it stayed as-is with OA students continuing on to Jackson Reed.

Has anyone heard that Oyster-Adams will now feed to MacArthur (not JR)? Not sure when, or if it’s true?
