Subject: Parent groups for LGBTQ+ kids
I'm not sure why my post got deleted, it was an actual parent support group. Perhaps Admin thought I was joking b/c of the play on words in the name. OP, do a search for LGBTQ support for families in Richmond and it will come up. (They support in the DC area too but based in Richmond).

You might want to check out the Mama Dragons and the Mama Bears – not sure if either have in person meetups but they have some great online resources.
There is also a DC chapter of PFLAG

MCC Nova has a group that might be of interest? I've never attended it, but I was part of their group for significant others of trans people a while back and found it well run.

I feel for you. Children’s Hospital in DC used to have a group that met monthly, not sure if they are still running that. There was a group that met in Montgomery County and another group that met at the hospital itself.

Hi, are there local parent groups for parents of LGBTQ+ teens? Specifically non binary, but I didn't know if groups lump everyone together. I'm not on Facebook but if it were really good I'd join if there was a way to keep it private since my kid hasn't yet come out to everyone. I want to be supportive but am feeling alone and can't talk to many of my friends since kid isn't completely out.
