Lake Placid Lodge is the best choice.

Third vote for Mirror Lake Inn.

Top of the line is the Lake Placid Lodge for that area. However, I prefer Mirror Lake Inn for its history and central location.

Whiteface Mountain Lodge is nice but a little disneyish (I still enjoyed it). It is also not in town.

Mirror Lake Inn is lovely and in town.

LP will likely be very quiet that time of year. I went end of March and it was quieting down; was surprised because was still great ski season.

The schools in NY have a spring break in April. if you are going then, it will be more crowded. Have fun and make sure to do all the Olympic themed attractions!

We loved the whiteface mountain lodge.

Road biking is your only guarantee.
Trails could be a mess.

We liked The Haus, right on the main street in the middle of everything. It had two bedroom suites with good sized kitchens, so more apartment style.

Nice nice, whiteface lodge. Good enough, cambria, bluebird by lark, crown plaza, best western.

April could be snowing or mudcentral, so have plans. You cannot hike the high peaks during mud season.

Thinking of heading up there for a few days during spring break and biking. Family of 4 (2 teen boys). Can anyone recommend a nice hotel? TIA!!
