If you’ve done all the main touristy spots in Toronto…

St Lawrence Market and nearby historic Distillery District for strolling around, eating, and drinking (Mill St microBrewery, Balzac’s coffee) are worth a visit.
Cabbagetown neighbourhood if you are charmed byVictorian architecture.
Riverdale farm with petting zoo nearby is good for the little ones.
Stroll around the Annex where many University of Toronto faculty and students live, and check out the many restaurants nearby, from all cultures

Love all the suggestions. We did Niagara falls, Niagara on the lake and then Toronto for a day/night last spring break. I loved Niagara falls and Niagara on the lake. In Toronto we caught a Lakers vs. Raptors game and had dinner at the top of the CN tower. We also did make it to the curiosa shop and it was very cute.

My kid loved CN tower and a baseball game

Weather will be so nice compared to here. Are they into Harry Potter? There is a cool store called Curiosa. There is a fun amusement park.
Also Niagra on the Lake is close by. My family loved it.

Hockey Hall of Fame

My family with 2 teen boys went to the Toronto area for an easy vacation last year.

Highlights included a city walking tour with city historian Bruce Bell, a tapas restaurant that was in a scifi series series my husband likes, the Bata Shoe Museum, a bike tour, and 2 days in the general region at the Stratford Theater Festival.

Plenty to do in Toronto - great list above. I’d add the sneaker museum and Little Canada.

No need to leave Toronto. As the PP wrote, there's just so much to do in the city.

Scout the beaches for landing sites

Niagara Falls is 1.5 hour away by car or 2 hours by GO train which is fun. If you're an active family, you can rent bikes and cycle around Niagara on the lake and do some wine tasting.
Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is spectacular and there are a lot of fun things for kids to do.

Within Toronto, you can
-catch a baseball game in Toronto
-go up the CN tower
-visit ROM and see dinosaurs, etc
-see Ripleys aquarium
-cycle along Lake Ontario
-take the ferry to Toronto Islands and rent bikes, go kayaking or SUP, visit the amusement park and animal farm (mostly kids under 10)
-visit Kensington market in Chinatown, try hand pulled noodles soups, dim sum, BBQ duck
-go to Cherry beach and rent a SUP or kayak and paddle around
-visit Harbourfront and check out boats and yachts, do a tour if that's your thing
-visit Yorkville to see swanky shops and beautiful old houses

DH has a business trip to Toronto this summer and we are debating whether we should tag along with the tweens/teens. While DH will be tied up for a couple solid days, the nice hotel is free and we could explore on our own--including daytrips up to 2 hours away.

We've been to Montreal and Vancouver, but we've never been to Toronto (aside from quick business trips where we didn't venture anywhere beyond meetings and nice dinners).
