OP, are you local to the DMV. If so, next time go to RnJ - they will assess your gait and factoring in intended purpose of wear, recommend the best sneaker for you (even anong Brooks, there are all different styles, levels of support etc).

Thanks everyone. I bought some Brooks today. Much more sturdy and supportive than I’m used to but also more lightweight and cushiony.

Thanks everyone. I have an appointment with a podiatrist but it isn’t until August (I’m a new patient). I’m headed to a running store later so I’ll try on some. Thanks.

Please see a podiatrist or ortho if your level of instability and pain has actually shifted a lot from your baseline. And a session or two with a PT
With respect to exactly what type of shoes you should get, there are no answers because it’s 100% individual preference. I work in an operating room and we do 10-hr surgery on our feet. The footwear ranges from Dansko to barefoot-type shoes to cowboy boots to waterproof crocs. My preference is not going to be your preference.
That’s why I want you to at least get your feet assessed once. And your gait.

I love my HOKA shoes. I haven’t had any flare-ups of plantar fasciitis since I started wearing them.

Looking for suggestions for people who work in jobs where you are on your feet all day. I’m turning 50 soon and my go-to Nikes aren’t working for me anymore. Lots of foot and ankle fatigue everyday. TIA!
