High school sports generally require 5-6 practices a week. Our travel soccer teams in elementary required 3 day/week practice plus games. So this isn't that unusual. If the commitment is too much, maybe look for a different club.

It’s a real youth track team. They send kids to Junior Olympics. They have older teens who get track scholarships to college. Lots of the top DC -area high school runners got their start on this team.

But if a kid only does 2/3 of the practices they won’t get better all that quickly and won’t be particularly competitive.

As a parent whose kids used to do this team, it was super disappointing to watch parents sign their kids up but they don’t treat it like other competitive sports or dance.

Does anyone have experience with the DC Speed Track Club?

https://www.dcspeedtrackclub.com/

It says practices are 3 nights a week, would love to get my 8 year old involved but I don't know that we can do 3 school nights every week. Any ideas? I emailed them but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks!
