That must be so stressful for you trying to talk reason to your brainwashed mother. My DIL has a similar problem with both her parents who gets their news from Fox and Facebook. It is very frustrating and painful for her to not be able to get through with reason and credible sources.

They need to stop their need for political purity and their resulting in-fighting. It's ridiculous to call for Schumer's resignation. It's the same as the GOP calling for judges to be impeached.

They need to refocus their message on the working class. The people barely surviving through a gig economy, with inflation and possibly stagflation coming their way. They need to look at whole systems to understand why there are housing shortages and not primarily focus on helping the most vulnerable. Don't stop helping them, but that can't be your main messaging. Your messaging has to be we are all in this together. Let's create opportunity for all, so that all can thrive.

You have to stop demonizing whole classes of people. Police, white men, Karens. Republicans themselves. It feels good. I get it. I feel it too. But you are alienating half the nation. We talk about being inclusive. Walk the walk. Include those you disagree with. Make genuine room for diversity of perspective too.

Trump just takes everything from Dems and reframes it, simplifies it and idiots believe it.

I actually agree with Schumer that not funding government would have been a field day for Trump.

He has done a great job over the years .

But I also think we need younger, fresher leadership. Not too young as experience and judgment is needed.

What should Americans do?

I love elimination of all the fraud, waste and abuse. There should be more cuts to federal spending. More fat can be trimmed.

Elected Republicans are equally responsible to stand up for democracy, not just the Democrats.

January 6th is everything to me

In short, the campaign, the goal is to fire him.

Impeach, remove from office ... That's it. The president is not faithfully executing our laws -- the highest crime imaginable. That's the message the opposition needs to have from now until the midterms. Win a majority in house. 67 votes in the senate. Don't care if all think it's impossible. Make that the singular goal. Make it the only topic. Our nation does great at simple things. He does xyz, fine, ok, let's impeach him and remove him from office. Nothing else matters. That on repeat for the next 18 months. Rally everyone against him or what he does around this singular goal.

Identify a talented and young leader that can energize a resistance and then hit the road traveling all across America educating average americans about the crisis we face. Basic leadership. The leader should organize a plan. Skip the protests. Nobody cares about protests. They just make the protestors look crazy. See BLM for an example.
