When did your metabolism start slowing down?

I was you OP at the start of the year. I have been on wegovy since November and I am now close to my pre-perimenopause weight again. There is no way I would have lost this weight without it. My calorie intake required is so much dramatically lower now at 52 compared to when I was in my 40s

How do you get it prescribed?

Started Wegovy and lost 40lbs over 18mo. I don’t think the weight would have come off without the medication. As a result of the weight loss, my cholesterol and blood pressure are now in the normal range.

Do you have any idea how many calories you're eating on the medication? It's wild that you were eating 1000 a day and not losing.

I’m sorry I don’t. It’s been a few years. The nausea helps curtail a lot of eating. . I remember having to be very deliberate about what I ate because I knew I wouldn’t eat that much. I ate a lot of grilled chicken and vegetables. I remember that kids meals were too much food.

It is basically magic for me, and that's true no matter what I eat on the GLP1 and even with low activity. I know this because due to nausea I do not have the best diet right now and losing more than I did pre-GLP eating amazing low carb and healthy and being much more active (the lack of activity is not wanted: just very stressful busy time at work) .

THis is me also. Exactly. I track and eat 1100-1200 calories. Strength train, aerobic. no weight loss. I think i'm classic my metabolism has been shot from starving myself for years. and I need it to jumpstart somehow. Glad to hear it worked for you. Mind me asking what dose and how long you were on and if you were able to cycle off or get off completely?

Has anyone here had success using a GPL-1 if they

1. eat a low calorie diet
2. work out regularly
3. strength train
4. are in peri/menopuase

BUT THE WEIGHT DOES NOT COME OFF.

I don't think I could or should get away with eating less, but my doc suggested this idea and I am interested.
Ideas?
