Don’t say that. You’re basically telling her “I’m not sure you can handle this, I will rescue you if you have any negative feelings.” If you trust the family then there’s no need to say this.

Don’t forget to say thank you and clean up. This age is easy. They still follow rules and aren’t into social media yet but they can take care of their needs.

Subject: Advice for kid before first sleep over party?
My 8 year old daughter has slept at friends houses a number of times when she's the only guest, but she's going to her first slumber party with a whole group of kids on Saturday. I know some families don't do sleepovers at all, but we're OK with sleepovers when we trust the hosting family, as we do here. There will be 8 kids at the sleepover. Is there any advice/conversation you'd have with an 8 year old before a sleepover?
