There is no reason to divide the forum. There is a search button, that few people use but could help find topics. There is are plenty of AAP, IAAT, math competition type threads in the forum.

The reality is that this site provides biased posting on the AAP process because of who posts here. It is not a realistic portrayal of the process or what AAP looks like. Most of the parents posting are very invested in getting their kid into AAP or TJ and see the system as flawed if what they see as the ideal candidate doesn't get accepted. The same topics are repeated over and over and over, regardless if they are focused on AAP or TJ.

I felt the same when I was in search of AAP related stuff esply during the AAP results being published. DCUM has tons of forum topics why not a separate forum for TJ , its worth having a separate one . I understand its AAP related but AAP has evolved through the years in various aspects, so young parents who are vey new to AAP have tons of things to check in DCUM. Its a win-win for both AAP and TJ parents if they have a separate forum . sometimes the important AAP stuff gets buried under TJ threads and makes it so difficult to navigate through I'm sure TJ parents feel the same when it comes to AAP.

The top ten threads this morning were about TJ. I don't understand the obsession but maybe I need to hang around more of these folks IRL and drink the TJ koolaid.

All TJ threads have "TJ" in the subject, making them easy to identify. Yet, you chose to go through them, but foolishly call others obsessed? That's pretty ironic.

I didn't go through them at all. Please understand that your child is still smart and worthy of pride if they don't get into TJ!

Please understand your child will be happy in gen ed,. Dont worry about other parents and their student's advanced academic interests. Just learn to ignore TJ threads.

haha. wow, you are very sensitive!

Today, yes, other days there are endless posts about HOPE scores, IAAT, NNAT, CoGat, centers v. LLIV , WISC, Algebra in 6th and 7th, etc etc. not every day is TJ-focused.

I'm sure the overlap is not insignificant. Not everything needs a separate forum - just use your thumb and scroll.

Seems this forum is dominated by TJ obsessed parents. Are those who are interested in AAP really mostly TJ wannabe parents? (I'm not but maybe I'm in the minority?)
