Subject: Florence or Venice 3 nights in February
We visited Roma, Florence, and Venice for honeymoon, and will take kids to Venice this time ( Roma in the future since its jubilee year this year). They want to see Venice before it’s gone ( it’s sinking). Florence is great too but kids aren’t into art and museum very much.

We've been to both in December and both are awesome. If there's really nothing else tipping the balance for you, go to the one that makes most sense logistically. For me, Venice was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Florence exceeded expectations.

Both are great. I do whichever is logistically easier.

Venice is not remotely like Disneyland.

Both are great. Depends on what you want to do. More museums and art in Florence, but Venice is really special. I rate Venice higher, but I'm more of an "ambiance" over museum person.
Just walking around Venice is special.
But, Florence is great, too.
Have you considered Rome? I prefer Venice and Florence, but weather might be better in Rome.
Are you going to Switzerland to ski?

Check when Carnevale (Venice Mardi Gras) is happening and whether that appeals

Where in Switzerland? There is a neat festival there for carnival if it is late in the month.
Personally I like Venice a lot more than Florence if you are sticking with one of those two though.

I've been to both Florence and Venice. I agree with PP that you can't go wrong with either. But in February with it chilly and a potential for rain I might lean toward Florence.

Where in Switzerland? How are you getting there? Perhaps consider the Bernina Express train.

Both are great, but I would probably lean to Florence. No matter which you pick, you can’t go wrong.

Me and 18yo DD next February. Looking to add 3 nights to our trip to Switzerland.
Would Venice or Florence be a better choice? I’ve never been to either city.
Thanks.
