Agree Op. God has zero to do with it but living in a country with skilled medical care dies. If God were really helping why are so many African children starving to death?

I agree completely.
Before a recent mammogram, I was in a crowded waiting room while a survivor spoke loudly to another patient about her journey, the many tests and procedures she’s had and how believing in Jesus was the key to her outcome.
I bet those tests and procedures had a lot to do with it too. Grrrrrrr.

When I was a church goer I hated it when people said god chose these children for us, or these children chose us because of our belief etc. Meanwhile, people struggling with infertility are receiving the message that children would rather live with a meth head or in a war zone than with them.

I lived in AL and GA for 8 years and often when encountering people in public I'd say "hey, how are you?" and get a response "Blessed and highly favored." Always annoyed me to no end. It's Christian virtue signaling, that's all.

That's the point OP is making. The mother seems to think her daughter is more important to God than those children. Is she? Does God prefer wealthy children with access to resources and medical care, including good surgeons?

Yes. We're blessed and the rest of you--maybe you're cursed. I don't think people understand how It sounds though. I think they think they're being grateful and thanking God for helping them through something hard but it actually sounds braggy and self-centered.

Someone I know, their daughter just had major orthopedic surgery. The surgery went well, and then her physical therapy got her back on her feet quicker than anyone anticipated. What does mom get on Facebook and say? “God’s hands were all over Larla’s surgery and amazing recovery.”
Not the highly-skilled surgeon? Not the modern medical procedures and facilities? Not the access to quality physical therapy? So your precious Larla is more important to “God” than a less privileged child? God said, “F that kid”?
