Mine will be taking Health B first semester senior year. They did online Health A over the summer and cramming it all into 3 weeks was a lot to manage.

No, summer school for health but will do PE senior year for probably similar reasons.

The pro of taking it later is it offers more space in the schedule in earlier years for other classes. The con is that they are likely to be surrounded by freshman and if they aren’t crazy about that class composition it may not be the best idea.

Another option is to take it during the summer or in the evening online.

There are other ways to be strategic and high stats that don’t include taking it senior year, but I would note that the PP does outline one way.

If you kid wants to take only the number of credits that is normally earned at their school (eg if there is seven periods each day most kids will graduate with 28 credits, not including middle school) it does create a squeeze. One option is to just do an extra credit beyond the 28.

Mine did. His list of subjects and GPA when he applied for college after 11th grade was far more impressive (because Health is frankly a "fluff" mandatory subject). As you know, college only sees the GPA till 11th grade because student apply in the beginning of 12th grade.

Of course, he was doing resume building ECs, academic studies, SAT prep - during the school year and summer vacations in previous years. High stat kid.

Also, he was finished with AP Foreign language in 10th grade so he had one slot in he schedule anyways. Health and senioritis goes together. He also took many semester long electives that was STEM focussed, and of course 4 more AP classes

^^ Magnet kid who has always been chilled and strategic.

So, he did health the senior year and it was an easy class in the middle of all his electives that he had not taken before. Also, he was finished with AP Foreign language in 10th grade so he had one slot in he schedule anyways. Health and senioritis goes together.
