This. It requires some admin signatures iirc, possibly from both schools so allow time.

In the past, Churchill has had a form to fill out for non-Churchill dates, but I'm not sure whether the date has to be in MCPS or if anyone is fine.

It should always be true

Thanks all. I will call Churchill tomorrow.

And, no, my seniors date attends St. Alban's and is a senior.

I think it might depend by school. DC's school did not allow non MCPS but it could have been a temporary post-covid precaution?

Assume this. Do it well ahead of time.

Call the school. I think they want to avoid a student bringing their 25 year old (drinking age) boyfriend.

They’ll let a student from a private school attend.

The policy aims to prevent college kids or dropouts from attending.

That seems like a reasonable hurdle.

There is a form to fill out for the school to approve a non MCPS guest.

I think at our HS last year (RM) a senior could bring a date from outside the school, but I think there was some process.
Also most of the kids barely stay at prom so your kid could still ask this private school friend to the dinner before, pictures and after party, all of which will be 80% of the event.

This is the case at our HS.

I don't think that's true. But there is usually some process or form you have to fill out for bringing a non-MCPS guest as a date to the prom though.

I can't find this on the mcps website. My senior DC is going to a private school friends prom with them. When asked if they would invite same to their W school prom they said that they can't because everyone at the prom (prom dates) need to be an MCPS student. Is this true? Please tell me it's not! TIA
