No. I don’t think it would benefit them.

He was presumably doing his job, just not on camera. Like advising the boy on his plea, arranging for psych consults.

They are the target demographic- go for it.

There is a lot of swearing in it but no graphic violence or sexual content so you shouldn’t find it objectionable to show them. Actually, they will probably know more about the social media world depicted in it than you do so you should have a good discussion afterwards.

I don’t think it was slow at all. It was deliberate and allowed for an active viewer to ponder, to wonder and really absorb the gravity of what was happening in any given scene.

Was a little slow and left several story lines unresolved but very impactful. The main characters were brilliantly acted. Heartbreaking and difficult to watch. Raw nerve for all of us who reflect if we are good parents. Highly recommend.

I was really interested in this show and watched all 4 episodes, but it was too slow I wish it didn't drag on so much, in every episode. It could easily lose its audience, and it has an important message to tell.

I feel besides the toxic masculinity/ incel messages, it also touched on several forms of bullying (boy v boy, group bullying, online bullying, girl bullying), sexting, the education system and the mental health system. Jamie seems to be a product of all of his environments, not exclusively of his father's anger issues. The school environment is horrendous, with all teachers screaming, children not respecting any authority, with violence, with bullying, no order, just chaos all the time. Then in episode 3 you see Jamie is being held in a psych ward and it is explained that he is there because there isn't room for him where he is actually supposed to be so he is constantly being exposed to people with several mental illness (not saying he doesn't have one) and his mental state seems much worse during question with the therapist than in episode 1 with the police and his father.

I.E Toxic Masculinity: A mini series.

Excellently acted, especially the kid who played Jamie. The one shot method was overall beneficial, it added to the tension, but I would have pruned down some of the dialogue, it did drag at times.

I would have liked to have seen more from the victims point of view. Maybe in the school episode, have the detectives interview a group of her friends and have them describe the nude pic fiasco in their words. Jamie was obviously an unreliable narrator there and an intelligent viewer could read between the lines. However, I hated that the official narrative of the dialogue was victim blaming, describing her as a bully.

Different subject matter. I think it would be an important watch for fathers of tween/teen boys especially. Not an easy watch for sure, but important in today's climate.

I have a 13 year old boy, and this really struck home for me. Difficult to watch for sure.

Very well done, but a hard watch. I think that parents of teens and young children should watch it, but it will be emotionally difficult for sure.
