I haven’t done this trip, but I want to! But I do live part time in Cayman and am an avid diver. Full wetsuit all the time, even in summer. It’s easy to remove layers if you have too many, but impossible to add if you don’t have them

Wondering the same thing OP. Also going in April, and leaning towards bringing long sleeve wetsuit for adults but having my two teens use shorties. Lindblad says they only provide shorties.

In January 2025 the water was frigid to me. The regular air temp was nice and warm.

Best trip ever. I would go every year if I could.

Some of the websites seem to say you’d want a wetsuit mat to November but not December to April. The tour provides a shortie wetsuit so I’m not sure if I’ll want more. The Humboldt current apparently doesn’t arrive until late May, so that’s what makes it extra cold in what is our summer. I keep waffling and am not really sure what to order or wear under a shortie wetsuit — I don’t want to order a full wetsuit. Google says the average water temp is 76.

Galapagos spans different water zones. IF you are south/Humboldt current the water is VERY COLD. The more northern parts are just cold.

Anyone been? We are going next month and I am trying to figure out whether I will want a skin under my shortie wetsuit for open water snorkeling (I do get cold easily), and also how many shorts to pack versus long pants, whether we'll need jackets, etc. When I google, I find a lot of info from people that went over the summer or over winter break.
