Universal, you can stay at one of their cheap hotels like Endless Summer which are very nice and still have the extra hour in the am. Shuttle is super convenient.

I would do Miami and Keys - previous PPs had some good suggestions for those.

Universal will be very crowded due to spring break.

They are the perfect age for universal. Buy regular tickets, you can upgrade to fast pass in the park if you need to.

if you want to get out of the city, we did the bike ride with the alligators in the everglades and snorkeled pennekamp on key largo

could also drive down to the Keys, there are some swimming with dolphin places right at entrance to keys and you can also go kayaking in mangroves.

Everglades, go to Miami/Wynwood, snorkeling or scuba if they are into that, rent waverunners and tour the canal, there are tons of things to do down there.

Universal will be fun but those few days will be very busy so just keep in mind you'll be doing a lot of waiting for rides. Depending on your tolerance you may want to consider staying at a hotel that gives you Express passes.

That’s a lot of driving for little reward. I’d find something more local to do.

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach is nice for kids that age. They have two pools, a FlowRider, and the ocean, of course! We love going there for long weekend getaways. You don’t have to ever leave the resort, and tons of food options within walking distance.

We are in Fort Lauderdale this weekend and will watch some baseball spring break games. We dont fly out until next Wednesday, where can we go Monday-wednesday with 12 and 14 year old? Should I drive to Universal? Kids have never done that.
