My daughter is interested in trying out for McElite Superclub's 2014 teams this spring. Would it be possible for her to attend an upcoming practice in advance of the official tryout dates to see if any of your teams would be the appropriate fit for her skill level?

That Email was for a top 5 national team which my son made...They get lots of email. Just making sure they know im not wasting their time.

Lucky... If I see an email with the phrase "very talented kid," my first reaction is skepticism. I am also a very talented coach, but here I am reading your email.

This isn't quite right b/c OP's kid is trying to make the team for next year but wants to practice ahead of tryouts.

What exactly do you say in the email

Email the age group director.

E-mail the highest coach you can get an e-mail for. The Director of Coaches, the Tech Director, the Academy Director or the Age Group Coach.
Someone in charge will write back and tell you where to go and when. E-mailing a targeted coach directly may not result in an invite. But e-mailing those in charge should be the correct approach, incorporating new kids correctly is part of their job.

Kids are already starting to come out early to try out other teams now. We've had 2 this week come out from different clubs.

And if you are really serious about switching clubs, I'd say this is more advantageous than waiting until open tryouts.

I agree, if not a top team player, getting in on a second team may be a good option to allow improvement and the possibility to eventually be seen as an option for the top team. I also agree with the previous poster that mentioned finding the equivalent level team at the club but I suggest going one higher. No point on making a lateral move unless current club environment is not ideal.

What is the etiquette for how to word this? Its a club with a lot of levels of teams, my kid isn't good enough for the top team, so which coach do I email? All three 'lesser" team coaches?
