Thanks PPs! We aren’t new to MV, but have not stayed at this lodging accommodation. The reviews were a mixed bag. I am excited, this seems like a great (older) establishment! I’ll bear that in mind.

Are you new to visiting MV? You're not going to find DC modern hotels and resorts on the island, there is a certain New England architectural style that is more rustic and weathered coastal. There are no 30-ft hedges for privacy, but instead acres and acres of undeveloped land between homes and roads. Many roads are unpaved and more suited for Jeeps. I have stayed at Menemsha Inn and its cottages and found it very comfortable and in-line with MV accommodations. If you want more comfort and luxury, check out Edgartown and the Harbor View hotel.

Stayed there 15 years ago for a wedding in a 1BR cottage where the wedding party booked out the entire place. It was cute and serviceable. Not fancy, but also not "rustic." Very unpretentious.

Easy walk to Menemsha Beach, plus staying at the property gives you access to a few other beaches in Chilmark. Would stay there again with my spouse or as a family after reading reviews. The place is 100 years old, so staying on top of maintenance is paramount.

The wedding was quite nice as they had the ceremony on the grounds of the Menemsha Cottages property, then the reception was at a nearby country club. Tbh, that was an awesome wedding.

I've never stayed there but if it matters to you, Menemsha is not in the "happening" parts of MV. It would require a drive to get places.

Menemsha Inn & Cottages - It seems the property is older and possibly in need of repair but well rated?
