OP here. Started when kids started school….about two years ago.


Maybe the complexity of school vs. the simplicity of daycare was too much for him.

Either way, you can press him to get diagnosed and you can streamline your space and your routines. You don't need his agreement or help for a lot of this. Look at your calendar and make cuts to have more down time. Look at your possessions and get rid of things. Look at your routines and see what can change. You can at least simplify the things that are under your purview and that will help.

Adult ADHD. partially brought on by too much tech usage.
I know a few dads who now take a small dosage of Adderall/Ritalin and it has helped tremendously

Get him an appointment with his PCP to figure this out. Also be kind, must be difficult for him as well, not just you. It can be adult ADHD or some other cognitive issue.

You mentioned “your week at the office”. With your help, I would make him handle the kids (getting them ready and out the door) with your supervision on the weeks you are in the house. Maybe he needs a checklist.
