Pre travel is joust more money but it’s basically rec.
your kid should still be doing other things even if he loves soccer at age 7-8.
No one needs yo he paying for travel and committing to the crazy schedule in ES

Caveat emptor, my friend; caveat emptor
There are a LOT of fat gym teachers looking for a nice handsome side gigs to fund the big house for mama eyeing your wallet right now….
Was in that boat a decade ago - U17 now. Memo to myself - you cannot do enough research/field research in this space.
Remember the clubs are selling an old tale - they will assist with future college recruiting. Some can, some can’t, some won’t but say they can.
Less than 1% of players (men) win scholarships.
Suffice it to say - look for a coach that has played at high level (Europe is ideal) and trains for technical at your boy’s age. For the world standard - you are late.
I hope you are 6’ or taller.
Maybe fast….or your wife ran track in college

Third grade is a good time to switch. But he should love the game, if not just keep him in rec.

My kid plays DC Soccer in the rec league. He likes it and is pretty good at it. He is in second grade. There are 3 teams associated with his elementary school and it seems like the good players will be moving up/on to pre-travel in the fall. I'm confused as to how it all works.
