Fb marketplace for sure

I've had my Hemnes dresser and nightstands for about 15 years, maybe a bit longer and still love them. Everything else I've bought at Ikea has been trash or close to it.

I have hemnes and malm. I hate the hemnes. They look nice, but aren't very functional. The drawer bottoms sag and fall out (yes, I know you can glue them, but it still isn't great), and the drawers don't roll out smoothly like the malm. The malm was awesome and I was so disappointed to see it was gone. I am going to Ikea soon to check out the other dressers and see if maybe one of them has drawers similar to malm, and in the 6 drawer configuration that malm had (where the dresser was low but wide).

FB marketplace. People sell their ikea dressers there all the time.

The trick is to use woodglue and seal the edges and joins. It makes the fiberboard drawer bottoms sturdy.

There is a ton of ikea furniture on Facebook marketplace. Very easy to find the common items.

It looks like HEMNES isn’t available anymore either. Anyone know why?

I only bought solid wood at IKEA (Hemnes line), but even the solid wood line had rather fragile fiberboard drawer bottoms, so you can't stuff too much in each one. Other than that, it's held up well. Not familiar with the ones who're looking at.

I’m looking st IKEA dressers. It looks like the Malm is no longer available. Does anyone have the Storklinta or Vihals? What do you think of it? Has it held up well?
