We have chairs from Castlery and sideboards from Article. Both are nice solid pieces of furniture. A friend of mine has a leather sofa from Article which is also nice. Our sectional is the Sloan from interior define and I like it a lot.

I have items from both. I’m not on Instagram -- I found them from nyt write-ups (maybe wirecutter). The quality is really nice. I would compare the quality to room and board, not ikea (and I have furniture from both of those places too!).

The main thing to look for is a hardwood frame manufactured in NC. It’s not because NC is magical, it’s because they’re expensive to ship so anything from farther away is likely made with different/inferior construction/materials.

Everything else is really preference. Cushion fill, etc. Obviously a fabric that suits your needs.

If you’re getting a sofa that meets those criteria, all a retailer like article can offer you over just ordering one custom is economies of scale related to sourcing the fabric and maybe some manufacturing efficiencies from making a bunch of the same thing. So you might save a little, but you should be suspicious of huge price variations.

Looking for a chaise sectional and started browsing Article and Castlery...what do we think of them? Am weary at the number of very high reviews, though they are good looking.

Any other recommendations for brands? Looking in the 2-2.5k range. Thank you!
