When is your child's birthday? The older they will be in their last year, the less I'd like a mixed age class.

I could not imagine considering NCRC. Safety first.

Been about a decade since we’ve been to Little Folks, but it was a wonderful experience for both our children. We still keep in touch with the staff. Love them.

Both are great options. Both the former head of NCRC and the current head of LF worked together at BVR. While I don’t believe your child is at risk at NCRC, if anything they are being hyper vigilant, the head of LF is amazing and that plays a big role in the overall dynamics of a school.

I am sure you are aware but NCRC does has been under severe scrutiny. This is one link.

Go to the welcome events and talk with parents —that will give you the best sense of the school communities. Meet the teachers and and ask the hard questions. Walk around both buildings and playgrounds and see what feels right. Great options to have.

NCRC is a ton of money for only a half-day program, but assume that isn't an issue for your family, if you're considering it.

Why?

The Head of School's arrest is still very recent (just this past November) so I would assume their community is doing some rebuilding after that. If I was debating between NCRC and LFS in this current cycle, that would definitely be a factor for me.

LFS is amazing. James is a wonderful HOS (compared to anyone and definitely compared to the former NCRC dude!). We loved it.

But send too fast. My kids thrived at NCRC. We had kids at the school for 7 years and only had amazing teachers. It’s a wonderful school and community. One bad apple does not ruin the whole tree.

I would send my kids there in a heartbeat if they were younger (at the Cathedral schools currently… happy and thriving).

Is this real? People are still choosing NCRC when they have other good options? Being in a place you can feel good about energetically is very important in the early years. I would have trouble walking in that building at this point.

Hi! We just received news today and now choosing between NCRC Preschool (3s) and Little Folks (mixed age 2.5-5). Would appreciate any current/alumni parents' honest perspectives, particularly around the teachers (who the children spend the most time with), the parents community, the school administration and overall school culture. Thank you!
