Pro tip: Keep a pack of unscented baby wipes at the table. For the bowler pp, I also keep a pack of "wet ones" wipes in my purse because this also icks me.

Thank you. I can't focus on people bowling because they eat french fries and put their fingers in ball holes... then eat french fries. I'm glad I'm not the only weird person who thinks like this.

Potato chip, topped with sour cream, roe, chives

I recently did a pretzel grazing board. Different kinds of pretzels (hard, soft, sourdough etc) a various dips sweet and salty. Honey mustard, caramel, edible cookie dough, hummus, babaganoush, apple butter, everything but the bagel dip. Everyone loved it.

Ivy City Smokehouse makes a killer whitefish spread. I always hope I'll have leftovers and never do
I get it at Odd Provisions, not sure where else they sell it.

I like PP's endive ideas. I've piped them full of whipped goat cheese before and they were a hit.

Tapenade is so easy to make-- just a few quick buzzes in a food processor.

Are you sure about no heating things up?? Soft pretzels with beer-cheddar dip?

Ok now I have to go rummage for a snack. I've made myself hungry

I don't think people really want unique snacks at someone's home. Best left to the professionals.

Trader Joe’s eggplant and garlic jarred spread with crackers

Cut up veggies and hummus among the other stuff please because it's hard for some of us to not snack when everyone else is eating but if I do carrot sticks I'm not sabotaging my health goals.

Trader Joe’s is made for this- so many yummy snacki by goodies there. Some of my faves (excluding warm up items):

spicy hummus with sweet potato tortilla chips

of course the cheeses (triple creme brie with the fig and olive crisps- so good)

soft dried mango (shake some tajin on it)

chocolate covered pb pretzels

carmelized onion dip and ridged potato chips

corn chip dippers (elote flavor if you can find) with the hatch green chile salsa

I make a couple of easy endive appetizers:

• take a spear of Belgian endive, top with a halved cherry tomato, a piece of crispy bacon and a dollop of 1000 island dressing or remoulade sauce = endive BLT

• take a spear of Belgian endive, top with a candied nut, a schmear of goat cheese, and a dollop of honey = bougie endive.

Every month friends get together for game night. We play at a long table and the middle of the table is loaded with snack-type foods, things like cheese and crackers, chocolate-drizzled popcorn, assorted nuts, olives, chocolate-covered “things”, dips, pretzels, chips, etc.

I’m hoping to get a little creative this weekend and I’d love ideas.
