Yes, because I can afford to.
I used to skip Lyme because I use a heartworm med that also protects against fleas and ticks, and flu because we never board our animals or go to dog parks. But ticks are BOOMING where I am, even lasting well into the winter, and I find at least one on my dog each year. It's just not worth the risk. Similarly, while we're rarely in closed quarters with other people's dogs, why chance it? I don't want to stress if I had to suddenly board my dog due to an emergency, so I keep fully up-to-date on any/all shots my vet recommends.
