Not a cab, but we like Belle Glos Pinot Noir. It also has a cool looking bottle so makes a nice gift.

Orin Swift 8 Years in the Dessert is good for that price point.

Duckhorn Merlot, stags leap, Austin Hope cab are some other options. Caymus and prisoner are good too.
