We heat our deli sliced turkey from WF now. Tastes like cr@p.

Read Expecting Better, she really breaks down the risks. A lot of the advice is out of date.

More people get listeria from salad than hot dogs or turkey meat. Have the hot dog. Have the sandwich.

You can get hot dogs without nitrates if that's the concern.

A Nathan's hot dog, cooked until charred, on a potato roll with mustard and relish? Wonderful, I'll take 2, please.

Of course it is fine. Have you ever gotten listeria from a hot dog before? No.

I would think the nitrates are the bigger concerned unless you eat a cold hot dog. That said, I imagine one would be fine occasionally.

I’m almost 10 weeks pregnant and ever since I got pregnant I’ve been craving a hot dog so bad. I’ve heard that pregnant women cannot eat them for listeria risks. But I might just cave in and eat one. Of course I have to make sure it’s fully cooked.
Has anyone had boiled hot dogs while in their first trimester and everything was ok?
