For sure, do it. Unless your kid has dual EU passports, an MLS academy is a no brainer for American kids.

Not trying to brag! Just confused - there was one in the fall my son couldn’t make so we got an email about this and I just want to be able to tell him what to expect. He gets anxious so am wondering if this is just a publicity thing for Pathways to Pro or if it’s like a real tryout. I had thought the former but then saw someone else post about ID sessions.

Hard to tell, can you post more details of what the invite says? Did you receive an invite through e-mail perhaps? Or did you sees something on Social Media?
