Robinson has a very good freshman-comparable to the Langley freshman, no?

Robinson probably won’t make it back to states next year. West Po would be the favorites to win the region.

She's very good and creates space for others on that team to shoot open shots. But they are boring to watch.

Will they have a replacement for her?

No idea. She’s off to Radford on scholarship next year.

That's some excellent sportsmanship (sarcasm).....glad those fouls got called and the girls fouled out.

They didn't foul out. They picked up their fourth fouls in the third quarter and then sat out the rest of the quarter. West Potomac outscored Langley 23-3 in the third quarter to erase the 15-point lead that the Saxons had at half time.

The refs called a close, but fair, game. If the two Langley seniors had kept their composure, the outcome might have been different. Still, they did win the district and region. They just didn't progress as far at the state tournament as some had expected.

Realistically, probably no one is going to beat Osbourn Park this year. They beat Manchester, last year's Class 6 champion, by over 20 points in February, and also beat Thomas Dale, which beat them in the semi-finals last year, earlier in the season. They are on another level.

Sure bet the Langley parents were yelling.

Langley was up 30-13 at one point but blew it.

A Langley senior and a West Potomac player collided going after a ball in the middle of the third quarter. The Langley player got fouled but then she kicked the West Potomac player getting up, and earned a technical, her fourth foul. Shortly thereafter, another Langley senior intentionally shoved the same West Potomac player and picked up her fourth foul. From that point on the momentum was entirely with West Po and they won by almost a dozen.

Really dumb play from two Langley seniors who'd be going to the state semifinals if they'd displayed some maturity.

Osbourn Park is very good and fun to watch. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is their year. Robinson is boring but has some size.

I’d thought Langley might have a run at states like Madison had for several years but they really choked in the second half against West Potomac. They graduate their top player and now we’ll see if their two very talented freshmen get recruited by privates.

Wouldn't Robinson have a better chance, given that they just beat West Potomac?

Also, no one is beating Osbourn Park.

Osbourn Park, not Manassas Park.

Great comeback by the West Potomac girls to defeat Langley 48-37 tonight in the state semi-finals.

West Potomac and Manassas Park have the best chance to bring a state championship to the DC area.

Bonus prize: no more having to listen to past-their-prime cheerleader moms scream "LANGLEY" at the top of their lungs and North Face-clad dads yelling at the refs during every Langley game.
