Both of our kids have gone to Spring Valley Pediatrics since birth. We love the practice but it is an expense. The first year will cost you the most but insurance will partially reimburse you for vaccines and some wellness visits. It won’t be a lot. The practice does submit the claim to insurance for you but you pay at the time of service.
As kids get older, you can be strategic about what things you take the kids to the doctor for to manage costs. I often take the kids to urgent care for strep or flu tests. I got allergy testing done through LabCorp and insurance covered it.
The practice is worth it for us because it is a close drive, you can always get in same day and weekends/holidays for sick visits, you can call 24 hours a day, there is lab onsite, each doctor has call in hours, and the doctors are knowledgeable and have a great bedside manner. I have an excellent relationship with my kids pediatrician and completely trust her judgment. She has helped us get into specialists when needed and truly been an advocate for my kids. She takes her time and is never rushed.
My oldest child was a premie and I had a lot of anxiety about so many issues with him as a new mom. The care we received during his first two years was top notch. It was worth every penny.
