I don't see any information that this can be large scale targeted...but certainly a double-edged sword of convenience for recovery and updates, but does raise questions.
To add, think about how many of these daily armed car jackings would cease to be productive (or exist!) if one could just type a code on your iphone (or however this works), bringing your vehicle to a halt, locking the suspects inside your car until aw enforcement arrives. Wow.
