The truth is even if you ask all these questions it doesn't mean whatever they say will come true. Too much is unknown about how many trapped players they will have, how many will play HS or not make teams, etc. In general a larger club might give you more flexibility to combine teams, play up, and deal with whatever happens.

If you are through the trapped 8th grade year what questions do you wish you asked prior to committing to a club for their 8th grade season?
My DS wants to play HS soccer and needs a club team for 25/26 that will prepare him for HS.
You can tell looking at just NCSL that there are a lot less teams.
My biggest concern is joining a team only later to find out there is no spring season because there aren’t enough kids or they didn’t make HS teams so the 1 team reserved for the 8th graders now is full of the kids who are in HS.
VA tryouts are late for HS soccer they have to plan ahead for this. Or do all clubs just assume kids will play both?
