And it was edited every so often, sometimes heavily, by whoever was in power to suit the desired politics. There are whole biblical books held by the Vatican that were removed centuries ago. Op's question is really odd, if made by an adult. There is no mystery of how the modern Bible was made.
Just like today, there were special interests, with clout or their own imagining of how life should be. There are tons of contradictions too.
