Just because you're an outsider doesn't mean you have to look like a schlumpy tourist. I live in NYC and walk all over the place.

The most important thing is that they are broken in and are comfortable for you. I would wear whatever shoes you walked around a lot in last summer, or get similar ones and start breaking them in now.

I agree that none of these are "cute" but rather than just throw shade, why not post an example of a cute sandal that would be great to do a lot of walking around in as a tourist?

I have wide feet and love Jambu Helena:

Also found these Sorel Kinetic very comfortable, but not sure they would work with skirts and dresses.

IMO, as someone with plantar fasciitis who needs to wear support shoes, Naot has the "cutest" sandals. I like these, but they also have many other styles.

I wore Birkenstocks and Vejas. Europeans wear sneakers, too.

They're nice and fit the request exactly. Not sure you can get any less sporty and still find comfort for so much walking. What would you recommend?

those seem fine!

i wear tevas and platform gizeh birks for long walks (10k plus steps) - both are very comfortable for my feet
