All of my money was in a money belt, so none of my valuables were in danger. I've also travelled extensively, but Barcelona is different.

Someone else on the subway car alerted us to the danger, and I was appreciative of this.

Same, Barcelona is the only place I’ve been pickpocketed. I was carrying a sleepy toddler. Easy target but I’ve travelled to other crowded big cities in Europe and Asia and was never pickpocketed.

We did the tour with a visit to one of the towers at Sagrada Familia and enjoyed it. It was only a bit more than a regular ticket - through their website.

Plan to get to both in the morning right when they open, before the biggest crowds arrive. You don’t need a tour guide.

Buy your tickets from the official site and get the audio guide. Buying a tour from guides is much more expensive, and some are scams.

Also, visit the Mercat de la Boqueria before going to parc Guell to pick up items for a picnic lunch at the park. We brought fresh fruit and little meat pies with us to enjoy. My kids loved, loved, loved the fruit smoothies we purchased multiple times a day at the market. They tried so many different flavors. Have a wonderful time!

Thanks super helpful! I had seen providers offer tours of both Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia but sounds like we just need it for Sagrada FAmilia (maybe). Any tours you lked for just Sagrada Familia?

I'm confused--why would you get a tour of parc guell? I actually am pro-tours in general, but the parc is just a BEAUTIFUL park. read a blurb about it's history and then just enjoy the views. If I were you, I'd go to the big market (Mercat de la Boqueria), get yummy snacks, then head up the green line to parc guell and have a little picnic at the top. In peak season, you need to reserve entry to the most famous spots, but I'm not sure if that is the case in March--you'll want to confirm that though. ENJOY!!!

We were very happy with a Gaudi walking (and metro) tour. Do-able on your own, but even better when guided by an American college student studying abroad for a semester.

No need for a tour of Park Guell. Just go and wander. Exploring is half the fun.

Would love suggestions for tours or experiences including Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia. We'll be there at the end of March with our kids, 9 and 11
