You are a parent; your name should be on the application. And you are entitled to receive equal communication. He can edit the application to add your name and email. He should have added your name and email as a second parent. Otherwise, approach it legally especially if you are co-parenting. Yes call myschoolDC first thing.

Are you on good terms? You get a confirmation email with a list of the schools in the order he ranked. Ask him to forward.

Yes he can do it, there is no requirement of being a DC resident at the time of application.

I suggest you call the MySchoolDC hotline tomorrow. They're usually very helpful.

I went to do the lottery process and My School DC says that there is already an application for my child. I assumed this was my job because I am the DC resident. I didn't think he would be able to even fill out the forms without a DC address. What is the form like? I got kicked out of the system after the first page, so I can't see it. Would he have put down my name and address? I don't know how this would work when and if we actually want to enroll her in a lottery school, because we'd need to use my snail mail address to do that. Is it ok that he did it with his email account as a non-DC resident?

Hopefully he put the schools down in the order we discussed. Is there any way I can independently verify that? We have been having some tense conversations about where she should go to school. Would be be able to actually enroll her in school using my info? He lives across the country!
