PP, is this true for all MCPS MS or just this one? Thank you.
Its true of all MS and HS except for strict teachers but most are relaxed.
Wow - this is the first I am hearing of this - is this because they get in-class time for homework but instead are looking at non-HW related sites?
Because they are super long classes so kids finish the work quickly. The teachers sit at their desk and teach like they’re still on zoom
Great - why doesn't MCPS have better investment in MS? Their HS and ES levels seem much better.

I did algebra in 6th grade and geometry in 7th, and completed the foreign language requirement for my high school diploma as well. Agree with the other poster that band was mediocre. The theater, dance, and visual arts programs were great though.
PP, did you take a test once you got there? Haven't heard of Algebra in 6th. What HS did you attend after LMS?
There was no test for my child. It was choice partly and partly grades and map scores.
How is the math department at Loiederman? Strong teachers?
The one teacher was good we had but we left as the band-orchestra was terrible and time wise the commute wasn’t worth it. It’s for kids who enjoy the arts but not a test in program so it was very basic.
