It's not that much money, especially once every 3 years. The peace of mind is worth it. God forbid my cat got out, or a rat/bat/whatever got in, I wouldn't have to deal with rabies stress on top of event stress.

As for your "downstream effects" comment, being anti-vax is idiotic, especially as it pertains to rabies. Go get your covid shot, and your flu shot, and your titers checked to see if you need boosters, and don't put your stupidity's weight on the herd's immunity you're probably dependent upon.

3 year. We don’t do annual vet visits. Getting them there is stressful for everyone.

Probably because the vaccine is safe and rabies is a fatal disease?

The rabies vaccine is the reason why we have less than 5 rabies deaths a year in the U.S. vs 50k+ in Asia. Sure, don’t vaccinate your pets, but be glad that everyone else vaccinates theirs.

Purevax is adjuvant free. It is slightly more expensive, but also less likely to cause an adverse reaction.

I highly encourage a purevax type, it appears they make annual and 3 year versions. Both my cat and my mother's cat used to get the cheaper non-purevax annual ones. After about 8-10 years, both separately developed anaphylaxis reactions to it. Weird breathing and vomiting every 10 minutes that required a trip to the animal ER. My cat is indoors and I do purevax with monitoring afterwards now. That has gone well, no more reactions.

It is the same, but my vet much prefers the annual - maybe because they want to encourage the annual checkup.

Not for a cat, but my dog gets the 3 year vaccine. Like PP, we have a great relationship with our vet, our dog is healthy, and we don't do annual vet visits.

Three. My cats are exclusively indoors and going to the vet is an ordeal. We've been with the same vets for over a decade; we don't bring them in for annuals. Our vets know we'll bring them in for problems, so we don't have the super short leash some other people might

1 year. I take the cat in every year anyway.

My vet only does the 1 year vaccine
