Did you state the time as to when you needed her when you booked her? I dont see why you can’t move the time of the tickets yet can just cancel her. Seems petty. Would I be mad? No, it is not life or death.

As a sitter, I would have assumed you are out until 10 pm at least. But also, I would expect you to tell me the exact time before saying 'yes'.

Off topic, but I hate directives like this. Telling me to make my life harder today, for pretty much no reason. Walmart isn’t going bankrupt because I didn’t buy my groceries from them today. But I might go bankrupt trying to drive around town to get dinner supplies from 4 different local shops, not to mention, I have to work.

I’d have given an expected time frame (like, 630-1030) when I initially contacted her. But also, even just saying “Friday evening”, she should not assume you’re going to be home before 8pm. Otherwise you’d have said Friday afternoon. Lesson learned, that this person isn’t super reliable. It’s not like she is sick , sounds like she wants to go out herself.

She knew what you meant when you booked her especially if she worked for you in the past. She left you high and dry scrambling to find a sitter last minute. I would definitely not use her agian.

I’d have been annoyed but I wouldn’t have canceled her. I’d have waited for her to officially cancel if she didn’t like that you’d be home around 10, you gave her the easy way out. Either way I might look for other sitters , this one sounds flaky if she is soft canceling on you the morning of.

Yes, but you need to be specific about times. I’d say “5-10” and be back at 9:55 if she is driving, or 9:30 if I’m driving her home and it’s a 30 min drive. Just having an open ended time isn’t fair to her.

We have a sitter we’ve used a few times for dates nights and booked her for tonight. Plan was dinner and a movie.
This morning she texted that she has plans at 8pm, so wanted to move our booking to 4pm-8pm. We already have movie tickets for 730 so that won’t work and we just cancelled.
Would this irritate you? I feel like it’s pretty obvious if you’re needed for date night, it’s going to be a late night. Maybe not midnight, but definitely later than 4pm.
