We are trying to save money anywhere we can. That includes daily 3 dollar coffees. I know that it will hurt the workers at Starbucks BUT my family is hurting financially too.

Yes. Many people are adding up the significant amounts that they spend at Starbucks— and on other discretionary purchases — and are deciding to rein it in. Next week’s paycheck is not guaranteed.

I think everyone's depressed and looking for ways to save money. We're all anticipating leaner times, OP, even people like me who are not directly affected by fed layoffs.

Anyone else noticing this? Is there a boycott I’m not aware of or have people just stopped going?

I travel all around for work and the entire metro’s Starbucks seem pretty dead.
