I want you to be right but I also don' think I'm wrong.

What kept everything back was the influence of college (specifically womens) soccer.

Until recently going pro in women's soccer was as difficult as getting on a national team. But the pay was ridiculous and nobody cared. At least with the national team there were endorsement opportunities.

So players quickly realized that the best option was to play in college. Now colleges are slowly pulling back on non revenue sports and pro teams are slowly starting to pay players more. This makes the pro pathway more and more viable.

The girl dad's need to look at what's happening with MLSN + pro/college recruiting because this is where the women's game is headed. As an example once Acadamies are established on the women's side this is where both pro teams and college recruiters will look for talent. Not at showcase events (as much as they do now)

Except we all want our daughters to go to college because no degree does not a sustainable lifetime make

You say that now but when pro teams offer 400k+ a year with 50k put aside per year for college when they retire you'll change your tune.

Ok, Ms. Ricketts

Who's doing that? These american girl exceptionalism expectations to make a boys game comprable for a american girls to have their cake and eat it too is ridicuolous. What soccer clubs cares if your DD can get a college degree when they decide to hang up the boots. Clowns!

Happens all the time with boys pro contracts. In the end it doesn't matter because $$$ can be spent any way you want. Pro teams do this to show parents that skipping college to play pro is a good deal since players can always go back after playing pro and when they do college will be paid for.

USL has been designated as 1st division league by US Soccer. This doesn’t mean anything?

While I agree with everything here. The future, if done correctly, will be USL. If USL does what they are saying and does it right the MLS will be a sinking ship. Every youth club will flood to whatever USL youth league that starts. Look into starting a USL pro team in League 1 and then see if they can eventually rise up with promotion to the top league. The ability to have players on contracts and then receive money for players being sold would be massive. MLS is making a push now and everyone is drinking the koolaid but change happens quickly in the youth soccer landscape.

The GA wants to recreate DA.
MLS is trying to get their hands on $$$ by getting into clubs/women’s soccer.

Eventually all the best boy programs (including ECNL) will want to play MLSN.

1. ECNL club reaches out to MLSN. “We would like to join, but what do we do with ECRL team?
*****MLS announces Tier II

2. ECNL club says ok, but what about our girls side?
***MLSN forms Alliance with GA

3. What about ECRLg? Where will they go?
*****GA announces Tier II

4. In the future (around World Cup 2026), the MLS will most likely start a pro women’s league, soak in NWSL, and create some form of MLSN for girls.

This guy is paying attention.

It's also that MLSN is A LOT more desirable of a league for boys to play in. This translates to $$$ for clubs.

Girls ECNL might have a few top girls clubs but this doesn't translate to regular clubs making more $$$ with ECNL or GA. They both make roughly the same amount of money.

NWSL is going to partner with GA and create acadamies in the near future. Just like MLS has done with MLSN.

The writing is on the wall and US Soccer is in the background enabling it all to happen. This is DA 2.0 but without all the unsustainable free stuff thrown in.
