People keep saying this but I checked the numbers for last jubilee year and it didn’t seem like tourism increased that much.

The Vatican anticipates over 32 million pilgrims may travel during the Jubilee year as opposed to the "normal" 10-12 mill.

We were in Rome last Easter and everything was open and running. I think we went to the Coliseum on Easter Sunday.

Yes, outside stuff in Berlin. Some things are open, but not a ton, and that's every Sunday. Definitely double check Easter hours, because even stuff that might be open normally on Sundays may be closed for the holiday. Fortunately, there's a lot to see outside in Berlin.

Not OP but we’ll be in Berlin that weekend. Should we plan outside stuff for Easter Sunday? I hadn’t even thought of this…..

Italy is def open. We went for our honeymoon and all restaurants were hopping for Easter lunch, we barely got in.

I would not considering 1- its a jubilee year and ITS EASTER and 2- the Pope's health...

No where. It all shuts down over the high holidays.

Italy has this almost party vibe about Easter. "Jesus is risen, let's celebrate in public!" Every other place I've been to in Europe during Easter is much more solemn and quiet.

Even very secular European countries will have closures over Easter. Good time to do cosy things.

Oberammergau? I'd look into whether or not they are having the passion play while you are there.

Normally I'd recommend Greece or another Orthodox county, but this year Western and Orthodox Easter fall on the same date. Maybe a weekend in Istanbul?

Will be visiting DS who is studying abroad in Vienna from Holy Thursday to Easter Monday.

Heard Austria and lots of countries around will be closed that weekend. Where could we go and explore?
