Look at their results now that they’re u13, though. Not all about winning blah blah, but they had a moment and I think that’s all done with. So maybe not the best example?

Sorry but they have a bumpy track record. Most kids leave PAC for larger clubs due to the disorganization, favoritism and inability to improve/recruit very good players. Many families upset that there are combined aged teams b/c there aren't always enough kids for a particular age group. Then there's the lack of connections with colleges that the larger clubs have. PAC is fine if you are middle of the road or lower team player. Not for elite players.



While I agree that this is historically accurate, there is some legitimate levelling up going on there now. Maybe not in all age groups, but they're gaining traction

You might be better off forming a tournament ‘select’ or ‘all-stars’ team. Then when you prove you can win a tournament or indoor soccer or futsal league/ tournament, you might inspire confidence to get the players to jump ship and play for your team full time.

Otherwise, you got to be a really good salesman.

Same could be done on the girls side. Take an entire strong team and you can put them in ECNL and shake things up. Villarreal is in ECNL. It could give great opportunity to a strong overlooked team in a big club.

Effectively that’s how some coaches use the platforms like rush, takoma park, owc to host their teams. The challenge is when you get to u12 and u13 now the fragmentation of top leagues limit access to clubs, vs the USYS team

You'll top out at NCSL, and I'm not sure how you'd get an invite to play there (and even if you could, you'd start at the bottom division). It's not a viable idea at all.

unless the club you are going to is affiliated with a top league you will have a tough time getting buy in. This is because the best players need/want to be seen. To be seen you have to be with a major league (MLS or ECNL) What you suggest could be possible for U-9 to U-12 but you won’t get buy in for older players who likely have big aspirations for their future that can’t be fulfilled with an unknown club with no affiliation. Maybe a few parents who are not clued in would follow you to an unknown club for the perceived experience but those who know better would not. Even though it’s a good idea it falls apart in the reality of college and pro recruiting…
