The Trump admin can start by cleaning up federal NPS lands and actually prosecuting criminals + intensifying patrols on Metro.

Sure TRump and the republicans hate NPS.

Why would any R members of Congress vote to eliminate taxes in a city that voted 92 percent for Harris? Not only is this terrible policy (in part because it would guarantee huge rent increases and drive home prices way up), it’s also bad politics. Not happening.

How long do you think it would remain that way? The Republicans cou,d point to DC and say look what happens when you remove Income tax.

As for bad policy please you think they care?

The rage mode was like if someone blocked a bike lane abutting an unshoveled sidewalk while committing a cultural appropriation and being a victim of the knockout game that was probably their own fault or having their headphones in.

This is what I’ve been wishing for all along lol. My net pay would go up and my property value would skyrocket. Bring it on.

+1. Having a congressman is very overrated. Having tens of thousands of extra dollars in your pocket can be life changing.

Money is your pocket isn't worth the number of jobs additional DC Congressional representation would create. Not to mention the kickbacks.

Do you have any idea what a mainland federal tax haven would do for employment in DC? The long vacant Intelsat building would be purchased within hours in an all cash deal.

I don't think they will change. There was some talk if you work in the city but live in MD or VA you should pay a city tax on top of you state tax.

I guess that’s what I’m wondering. Who’s tax laws do we follow?

I’m all in on this if we don’t have to pay federal taxes.

Dumb question, I know, but if Trump follows through on his plan to take over the district, what tax laws would we follow?

For instance, would we follow the Federal level for the estate tax rather than the 16% levied now? They might abolish that tax federally soon. Just curious how local laws would be impacted.
