My sister and I (both 50s) and our mom (80 and in great shape) went on a guided Country Walkers tour last summer and really enjoyed it. We chose a tour rated easy/moderate difficulty level, and it was very manageable for all of us. My sister and I were the youngest ones on the tour; however, if you’re in good shape I would think you could choose one of the more challenging itineraries and the group would probably skew a bit younger.
Country Walkers also offers “self-guided” tours in several locations (Provence, France, and the Cotswolds, I think) in which all of your accommodations and transfers, as well as some meals, are included. That might be a good option for you.

Tour of Galapagos Islands from the smallest boat you can afford for as long as you can afford. AMAZING

Tauck does upscale tours. Try something in the Swiss Alps.

Nat Geo and G Adventures do small group, active travel with a local tour guide throughout. We've had fantastic experiences in South America and have met many travelers who have done countless trips with both.

I recommend a tour in a country where cars are driven on the "wrong side".
If you are looking at Europe, you'll be just fine with a self-catering vacation, maybe hiring guides locally.

Chile and Peru if you are active and can handle all of the hiking and altitude.

PP's suggestion of looking at Nat Geo is excellent too! They have very good programs.

DH and I are in our 50s...finally done with tuition and would like to do some travel that never seemed to work with the kids. DH would like to do a tour especially in a non English speaking country. We want to be active while we are still able. We are not looking for a 80 year old focused bus trip. Any suggestions. Assume price is no object (though it is a bit)
