We go several times a year and really like it, but it’s very quiet and there isn’t much to do outside of the clubs (pools, beach club at shoals, dining) and beach. We go and take it easy, spend a few hours at one of the clubs, then on the beach, etc. They do have fun kids activities at the conservancy (day camps, crabbing, etc.) and a weekly 5k that is fun. We find it a unique and relaxing environment but it’s not going to be for everyone.

We’ve been a few times and my kids enjoyed it. The dining choices outside of the clubs are limited so I’d recommend renting a home with access to BHI and Shoals Club. Both clubs have pools you can use as well.

It's not great.

It’s nice! Has no complaints, but did not go back. Just because I prefer to be right on the beach and we didn’t have that option.

Has anyone been? Care to share your experiences/opinions? We try to do a beach vacation with my sis/BIL and their kids every other year or so. Have been to OBX a few times, Destin in FL, and Hilton Head, but would like to try somewhere new. First or second week of August, kids are 13, 11, 8, and 8. BHI looks nice.
