Where was Taylor's response to the near-bcc incident that affected a very large community not only that school?

Guess the BOE and Taylor are making no true changes.

My kid was in lockdown yesterday at BCC. She felt fine coming out of school, but then was incredibly grumpy and tired in the evening. Please monitor your kids - they might not understand themselves how they're feeling, and it might take a little time for them to process what they feel.

Thanks to PP for finally bringing up the effects of all this on students. No they are NOT F fine. They are NOT. Just because they don't say anything doesn't make them ok. Talk to your kids and keep communications open, for the sake of our society.

Well, lucky for you MCPS says they have additional crisis counselors available for your child to speak with and help her process!

Because DCUM is made up of 50% people who live in wealthy areas and have a personal interest in wealthy schools, and 50% of others who love to dump on wealthy schools. That combination makes for long threads!

Maybe Paint Branch parents aren't spending all day on DCUM.

Nothing says "DC Urban lifestyle" quite like Burtonsville.

There was a lockdown at Blake the other day that didn’t even make the news. Kid made a threat but no weapon found. Stupid kids and stupid parents.

It also turned out to be a false alarm, whereas in the BCC situation, video evidence of the fight and gun was shared. Of course that's going to generate more conversation than a brief lockdown that ultimately led to nothing at Paint Branch.

Paint Branch High School is currently on lockdown for the report of a weapon on campus. MCPD is confirming the validity of this report.
